Are there any hidden costs such as deposits, transport costs, or uniform charges?

No. We aim to be as transparent as possible about the support provided to volunteers and any associated costs.

Volunteers are provided with the uniform or clothing required for their volunteering role and are not charged for this. There are also no hidden volunteering fees, accommodation deposits, or similar charges associated with participating in the volunteering programme.

In the event that a volunteer is required to travel between LHA hostels for volunteering purposes, reasonable travel costs will be covered by LHA. Depending on the circumstances, this may be through reimbursement of travel expenses or the provision of an Oyster card or other suitable travel arrangements.

Of course, volunteers remain responsible for their own personal spending, such as leisure activities, personal shopping, optional travel, or any additional items they choose to purchase during their stay.
