Are there curfews or house rules?

There are no curfews for volunteers. However, all volunteers are expected to be mindful of hostel quiet hours and respect the shared living environment, particularly when returning to the hostel late at night or leaving early in the morning.

All volunteers are also expected to follow the hostel's house rules, as well as the terms outlined in the Volunteer Agreement and Licence Agreement provided at the start of their volunteering placement.

These documents contain important information about expectations regarding behaviour, accommodation, health and safety, visitors, shared living, quiet hours, and other aspects of hostel life that help ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone.

We encourage all volunteers to familiarise themselves with these documents and refer back to them whenever needed. If you are ever unsure about a particular rule, procedure, or expectation, please speak to a member of staff at your hostel, who will be happy to provide clarification and guidance.

Our aim is not to create unnecessary restrictions, but rather to ensure that volunteers, residents, guests, and staff can all live and contribute together comfortably within a shared community.
