How strict are the rules around attendance and lateness?

We understand that circumstances can change and that flexibility is sometimes needed. What matters most to us is open communication, mutual respect, and a genuine commitment to supporting the hostel community and our charitable mission.

As volunteering activities are often linked to specific hostel operations such as meal service times, check-ins and check-outs, house quiet times, it is important to keep this in mind when considering any changes. The key thing is communication. Providing advance notice allows the team to plan accordingly and ensure duties are covered where needed.

Where concerns arise, we will address them directly, constructively, and in a supportive manner. Our aim is always to understand the circumstances, work collaboratively with volunteers, and find practical solutions wherever possible. We recognise that every volunteer's journey is different, and our aim is to work together to find solutions that balance individual circumstances with the needs of the hostel wherever possible.
