I am a student from abroad. Can I use my volunteering placement with LHA towards a university project, placement, or internship?

In many cases, yes.

We have welcomed students from around the world who have used their volunteering experience with LHA as part of a university project, placement requirement, internship, research activity, or personal development programme. Where appropriate, we are happy to support volunteers by confirming their participation and, where necessary, communicating with educational institutions regarding the nature of the volunteering placement.

Please note, however, that it is your responsibility to ensure that any volunteering activity is compatible with your immigration status and the requirements of your educational institution.

If you are travelling to the UK as a visitor or tourist, it is important that the primary purpose of your visit remains tourism, sightseeing, or other permitted visitor activities. Volunteering may form part of your overall travel experience, but applicants should ensure they understand and comply with any conditions attached to their visa or immigration status.

If you require documentation or communication with your university regarding your volunteering placement, please let us know and we will do our best to assist where appropriate.
