Is there a quiet hours schedule or cleaning rota for volunteer rooms?

Yes. All hostels have residential quiet hours, which will be explained during your arrival. We ask all volunteers to respect these quiet hours, particularly within shared rooms.

As volunteers live in shared accommodation, we also encourage roommates to be considerate of each other's schedules and routines wherever possible. This includes being mindful of noise, lighting, alarms, and other activities that may affect others sharing the room.

Volunteers are generally responsible for keeping their own room clean and tidy. While some hostels may include volunteer bedrooms as part of the duties assigned to Housekeeping Support volunteers, the day-to-day upkeep of the room remains a shared responsibility of the people living in it. This helps ensure that everyone can enjoy a clean, comfortable, and respectful living environment.

For this reason, many volunteers find it helpful to agree an informal cleaning rota or shared expectations with their roommates so that responsibilities are distributed fairly and communal living runs smoothly.
