Is there any mental health support available?

Yes.

We recognise that wellbeing is an important part of having a positive volunteering experience, and we encourage volunteers to reach out if they are struggling or would benefit from support.

Many of our House Managers are trained Mental Health First Aiders, and members of our HR team, including the Volunteer Lead, are also available to listen, provide guidance, and help signpost volunteers to appropriate sources of support where needed.

In addition, all volunteers receive access to Spectrum.Life, a confidential wellbeing platform designed to support both mental and physical health. Through this service, volunteers can access a range of wellbeing resources, information, and professional support designed to help them look after their overall wellbeing.

While LHA is not a healthcare provider, we are committed to creating a supportive environment where volunteers feel comfortable seeking help, discussing concerns, and accessing appropriate support when needed. We encourage volunteers not to struggle in silence and to reach out to a member of staff if they need assistance or simply someone to talk to.
