What happens if my visa situation changes during my volunteering stay?
If your visa, immigration status, or Right to Live in the UK changes at any point during your volunteering placement, you must let us know as soon as possible.
This is particularly important if you are applying for a new visa, waiting for a visa decision, changing immigration categories, or if your current permission to remain in the UK is due to expire. As part of our responsibilities, LHA must ensure that all volunteers have the appropriate Right to Live in the UK throughout their volunteering placement.
Informing us early allows us to understand your circumstances, provide any information we are able to share regarding our volunteering processes, and ensure that your volunteering arrangement remains compliant with the requirements applicable to your immigration status.
We understand that visa and immigration matters can sometimes be stressful and uncertain. While LHA cannot provide immigration advice, we encourage volunteers to keep us informed of any changes so that we can work together to understand how they may affect the volunteering arrangement.
Failure to maintain the appropriate Right to Live in the UK may unfortunately affect your ability to continue volunteering with LHA. However, wherever possible, we encourage open communication so that any issues can be discussed at the earliest opportunity.
